Zhongneng Polysilicon Honored with “China Patent Excellence Award”
China Photovoltaic Industry Association has announced that four enterprises including Jiangsu Zhongneng Polysilicon Technology Development Co., Ltd. (Zhongneng Polysilicon) and Canadian Solar Inc. (CSI) were honored with “China Patent Excellence Award”.
“China Patent Award” is China’s only national governmental award for patented inventions and has been recognized by the United Nations World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). China Patent Award was established by the State Intellectual Property Office in 1989. Since the 11th China Patent Award in 2009, the award has been given every year, which was previously every two year. Now, China Patent Award has taken place for 19 times. The award emphasizes patented technology and innovation, the use of patent in the process of market transformation, and puts forward requirements on the protection and management of patent.
“China Patent Award” consists of “China Patent Gold Award”, “China Patent Excellence Award”, “China Appearance Design Gold Award” and “China Appearance Design Excellence Award”.
Zhongneng Polysilicon was honored with the award for the “Reactor and System for Production of Polysilicon” invented jointly by Chen Hanbin, Chen Qiguo, Zhong Zhenwu, and Chen Wenlong.
Zhongneng Polysilicon is a wholly-owned subsidiary of GCL-Poly Energy Holdings Limited under GCL Group. It was founded in March 2006 in Xuzhou Economic Development Zone, Jiangsu and is the polysilicon production base with the largest single investment in the world. Its production capacity of polysilicon ranks the first in Asia and the third in the world.
